BALLYLIFFIN GOLF CLUB

Ballyliffin Golf Club is Ireland’s most northerly golf club and is home to two championship links courses- The Old Links and Glashedy Links. There are only 150 links courses in the world and Ireland has one third of them- Ballyliffin has two of the very best.

Ballyliffin is a member owned club and warmly welcomes visitors from all over the world each year.

Our clubhouse offers an excellent bar and catering service, is open to the public all year round and has stunning panoramic views of the links, Pollan Bay and Glashedy Island.

Ballyliffin Golf Club consists of two outstanding, contrasting links courses and 36 wonderful holes, making up one of the finest golf resorts to be found anywhere in the world. The expansive panoramic views of countryside, coastline and ocean savoured by these magnificent links courses will not easily be forgotten.

The Old Links undulates in the glory of its natural terrain, presenting an immensely enjoyable challenge to every golfer. Work recently undertaken by Nick Faldo has strenghtened The Old Links and brought much acclaim from members and visitors.

The new Glashedy Links is a Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock masterpiece fashioned around the incredible dunes, and is rated amongst the best links tracks in the world. Ruddy cherishes Glashedy as his own and has returned in recent years to fine tune the stunning bunkering of this magnificient links. Craddock and Ruddy are also credited with much of the improvement carried out to The Old Links in the course of constructing The Glashedy Links. Pat Ruddy is the owner of The European Club and is regarded as one of the greatest golf architects of modern times.

The Glashedy Links has hosted the Irish Inter-provincial Championships in 2006, the European Tour, North West of Ireland Open in 2002 and the Ladies European Tour, Ladies Irish Open in 1998.The Old Links hosted the European Seniors Tour in June 2008 – The Irish Seniors Open.

Both links at Ballyliffin have hosted European Tour events.  The Glashedy Links has hosted the 2002 North West of Ireland Open and the 1998 Ladies Irish Open, and will host the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open this year.  The Old Links hosted the 2008 Irish Seniors Open and both links have staged national and International amateur tournaments.

Ballyliffin is now a world renowned golf destination, attracting thousands of overseas visitors each year and promoting the area on the international stage.
